World Book Day 2021!

On Thursday 4th March it was World Book Day. This is always a highlight of my diary, but this year was unusual because all celebrations happened remotely. I’m pleased to say it didn’t stop my kids from throwing themselves into dressing up with gusto. After donning her spacesuit in 2020 and going as Katy from The Wishing Star, this time Isla decided to continue the Playdate Adventures theme and go as Katy from The North Pole Picnic – she even got our cats involved, which was very cute!

I then had an enjoyable day zooming schools and talking to children about how a book is published. The sessions were so much fun and proved how brilliantly children and teachers have adapted to remote learning. Hats off to Mrs Symonds at Moulsford Prep for coming dressed as Thunder the one-eyed cat, and a big thanks to all the children for asking such interesting questions. Everyone looked great in their costumes as well.

I now can’t wait for World Book Day 2022 – although hopefully it will happen in real life rather than from behind a computer screen!
