Westbourne School Visit

Creative Writing with Westbourne School

As a mum of two kids at primary school, I’m experiencing first hand the difficulties of home school. One of those difficulties is the relentlessness of the day to day. We all long for something to come along to break up the boredom!

Today, I was invited by the brilliant Westbourne School in Cardiff to hold two remote creative writing sessions with Years 3-6.

With the younger years, we spent an hour talking and learning about character development. This was followed by a session on setting and atmosphere with the older children.

Both sessions were interactive and hugely enjoyable and, to my relief, weren’t hampered by any technical issues on Zoom!

Thanks to Westbourne School for having me, and to all the children for their creativity and fantastic input into the lessons. I absolutely loved it!

Here’s a short extract from the school’s newsletter that went out to parents in the evening.
